Summary/Abstract: The literary response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks has attracted a lot of divergent critical attention. Addressing the question of how one can write about such horrors, this paper argues that a more indirect but reconstructive approach might be more effective than attempts to explore the aetiology and consequences of the attacks in more direct ways.
