Summary/Abstract: The development of “relatively stable” metropolitan cultural models, was affected through manifestation of new “values, often contradictory” that shape the metropolis as a place of tension and conflict. The metropolis is increasingly under the influence of electronic communication and globalization which have progressively eroded traditional hierarchies.
