The Structure of the Information Services Department at Aberystwyth University. A Report of a Training Stay in the Main University Library

Summary/Abstract: This article is a report of a trainig stay in Aberystwyth University Library as part of the Erasmus programme. The purpose of the authors is to present the structure of the Information Services Department. Special attention has been given to the efforts of the Library to provide its users with both traditional and modern information services. This article describes three university libraries which constitute the library information system of the university as well as the services offered by them, such as library services for research and teaching purposes, media services and information technology (IT) services for the purposes of the University and of information management (BIS).
