Literary Travels, Geo-Poetics and Memory around the City of Buenos Aires

Summary/Abstract: The present study analyses space and its literary paradigms, briefly depicted in the Argentinean literature on the city of Buenos Aires, in the XIXth and XXth centuries, focusing on its fundamental role within the consolidation of the New Land’s identity. Thus, we have considered the most prominent authors who consecrated Buenos Aires and its cultural imagery, in order to examine the significance of the literature throughout mechanisms of perception, criticism, and reflection, from different perspectives and topographies, in an attempt to bring together the past and the present within the affective memory.
