Summary/Abstract: American missionaries began searching activities after they had come Ottoman Land and they determined Armenians as a target group. The important part of Missionaries' studies on Ottoman Land was education. In this direction, they opened many schools in various levels. But they caused many problems in social and political life in Ottoman Empire as a result of their education at schools. With other factors, this situation prepared the ideological background of Armenian Revolt. They reflected Western public opinion by distorting their revolts and reflections of Ottoman. They used Armenians for American benefits. Russian Colonel Putyata informed in his report at 1895 about American Missionaries, their activities on Ottoman and their works about Armenians. In addition, he explained American schools, lessons and contents in every level and he commented on this subject.
