Summary/Abstract: Both the West and Poland fear and have prejudices against Poland’s joining the EU. The problems – the collapse of agriculture, industry and work market, the divergent positions of EU and Poland as regards the USA – reflects a worrying confrontation for the future of new Europe, the two parties being motivated by right or left wing ideological perceptions.
