Social Policy and Social Housing in Urban Areas. A Comparative Study between Romania and France

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to provide a comparative analysis between the urban social policies that are applied in Romania and in France, regarding the social housing. This manner, a great attention has been paid to this problem, to its evolution in the last period and to the implications of political decisions in this field. The comparative approach has as its foundations the statistics achieved at national level in Romania and in France, the analysis of the manner in which has been implemented the sale of these social houses to owners and the impact of this policy to the population. For Romania, has been also analysed the plan of cohesion policies for 2014-2020, that gives a high importance to the public-private partnering to develop these urban social policies.
