Summary/Abstract: Poverty is a multidimensional problem which presents many faces and it is no longer restricted to the lack of income. It is a subject that worries economists and policy makers which seek the best ways to fight against and reduce its magnitude. Our work fits into this framework and its objectives is to contribute to the debate on the role of economic growth, public spending and generational relations in alleviation poverty in Tunisia using a multidimensional approach. To do it, we develop, first of all, the state of the literature on these topics. Then, we study the incidence of these factors on four dimensions of poverty relating exclusively to health and education. The study period spans the years 1970-2012. The results findings highlight the particular importance of adult's human capital in poverty alleviation in Tunisia.
