Analysis of factors affecting the quality of results in Google search engine

Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to identify factors that have a significant impact on the quality of the information search process in the Google global search engine. Several factors were considered, e.g. the impact of algorithms, the results page architecture, the Google company policies and the actual behaviour of the Google search engine users. Significant factors and some shortcomings in terms of information quality were identified, both on the tool’s and corporation’s side and the users’ side.
