Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims at discussing one of Auster’s most common theme: death, alongside with all the projections and transformations generated by means of the implacability of events as it is displayed in his pseudo-autobiographical writing “The Invention of Solitude”. Thus, for the American author, death is actually the reason to generate a whole range of essential transformations that affect life itself.
