The Next Government

Summary/Abstract: The article does not contain any prognosis for the party which can take over power from Donald Tusk. Instead, it provides a critical diagnosis of the manner of government as exercised by the leader of the PO against the background of political practice in Poland as well as some external conditions relating to the “periphery countries”. The core of the argument can be found in conviction that the “framework” of that government – as regards bureaucratic inertia, and a concentration on political image-making, and creation of a certain model of political party – is not likely to be substantially altered by the successors of Tusk. And this probably forms a permanent legacy of his rule.
