Summary/Abstract: One could claim that the September 11, 2001 events are related directly to and involve processes and relations deep in the foundations of modern man’s perception of reality. Besides the obviously terrible nature of those events and the fact that they are the subject of deep regret, the feeling that what happened disturbed the profound foundations and mechanisms of the process where man produces not only his own reality, but also his awareness of it, lingers on one year later and now can, also obviously, be a peculiar cultural, historical and philosophical problem. One could maintain that a “global event” took place on September 11 – global in the sense of the theory of myth – as an event, which occurred before history. Actually these events are not only pre-historicity but rather “before – outside – aside – after” history and are occurrences in the sense of concurrence, a being that accompanies, concurs with the events which fill the historical world and historical time of modern man. In the globalised world after September 11 the satanic impulses of the wolf are regarded as indefeasible and eternal and, if it wants to preserve peace and its skin intact, the lamb has to be well armed. This is Pax Americana, a world in which good and evil meet for a fight to the death and in which the main conflicts cannot be circumvented. The archetypical basis of globality (and its products) is entirely different after the Event. Two opponents face each other: one visible and rational, who defends the entire world of traditional ideas, values, traditions and standards characteristic of the Western world. The other is invisible, and this is not the world of the other peoples and cultures, it is not the East nor the South, or some other religious Universe. This is the hidden and secret world of various “close communities”, which exist everywhere and are therefore beyond localisation or identification. One world has a clear structure, face, form and place. The other is amorphous, chaotic, depersonalised, ex-territorial, extra-temporal and extra-spatial. The crumbling Christian order of symbols is being ousted by something really ancient, archaic and pre-historic – all this no longer has anything in common with the Christian order of symbols, nor even with the Judaistic monotheistic tradition. The Manichaean prehistoric archaics, about which science learnt through reconstruction of the cultural world of Mesopotamia, now take leading positions in the subconscious of our “Chosen” contemporary. The primitive pre-cultural code of the Twins, the Manichaean battle between the powers of Light and Darkness, the gloomy Egyptian mysteries take the place of Christ’s word in the post-modern mythology of the globalising world after the Event. The “paradigm of the end” is much older, germinated quite some time before the revolutionary times in Europe, before the Great Discoveries, the Age of Steam and that of Historical Materialism. It is original and constitutional for Europea
