Summary/Abstract: "Feminist academics generally distinguish three different perspectives in the development of feminist theory: theories of equality, of difference and of deconstruction. These perspectives refer to different strategies and theoretical positions in the debate about the significance of sexual difference. The theories of difference centre mostly on mainstreaming women’s history, on resisting readings of the male canon.
