Summary/Abstract: "If one is to believe criticism, texts like Chaucer`s “The Knight`s Tale” in The Canterbury Tales possess a most peculiar space: on one hand they belong to a specific time and place and cultural context (which we all explain to our students at the beginning of classes), but on the other hand they inhabit a kind of mythical space outside the history of literature, a space similar to the heavens where Greek heroes went after death (if they were heroic enough), a space of immortality. ..."
