Summary/Abstract: The growth of demand for large sporting events caused that the process of organizing this type of events has become extremely complicated and toilsome. This is a result of rising public expectations with regard to participation in the mega events which are characterized by unpredictability, complication, and provides fans with a lot of emotions, sense of fulfillment, loyalty and satisfaction. Innovativeness and the using of logistics as a concept to optimize the processes associated with the gala are a key success factors according to sporting event which the author has analyzed and interpreted. The article contains an example of Euro 2012, as a large-scale sporting event that except economical benefits has promoted Poland as an attractive brand.
