Summary/Abstract: The space of the text is a fix recipient, not just a simple depository of facts, it is realisation and key, a space where things are produced, done, happened. The force lines organising the time and the space also group already existing essences, give them order and dictate their metamorphosis. The space of the text organizes and develops several types of behaviour related to chronological time using various modalities of structuring the space, offering answers to the fear of becoming. Romanul generatiei – The Novel of The Generation is a fictional work that carves the last adolescent period of the author’s biography, when he lived alone in Braila, a space with an important influence in his becoming. Although not assumed as an autobiographical novel, it offers, together with the psychology of youth, multiple social aspects of the home space that leaded to a non-adherence to certain principles and to a certain way of living. All these aspects are investing the text with a strong autobiographical substructure. The space of the novel is the space where the experience of a generation developed, a generation without the power, the knowledge or the means to deny its origins. This might be the reason why the space is described with no mercy and exposed with a brutal realism in its entire lack of moral dimensions.
