The Family as a Formative Agent. Educational Effects and Inter Individual Differences

Summary/Abstract: The family has a major influence on the individual’s educational destiny. The family environment can be secure and stimulating or, on the contrary, it may not provide the appropriate conditions for a child’s future development. The complex network of factors and elements that make up the family environment ensure individual development patterns and trajectories. The only child, the eldest, the middle, the youngest child or children from disrupted or monoparental families, institutionalized children seem to go through different educational experiences, often with irreversible effects on their character building.
