Relation between Language and Emotions in Intercultural Perspective

Summary/Abstract: The article proves the thesis that observations conducted from intercultural point of view are a valuable source of information about other, both familiar and quite remote, even exotic cultures and languages, and as such, they seem necessary in the times of culture dialogue and European (even global) idea of unity within variety. The review of research areas taken up due to the issue of mutual relations between language and emotions, confirms their complexity and multidimensional character. The key problems, concerning the subject being discussed in the article, refer to various levels of communication: from the detailed and quite complex aspects of names of emotions (on its lexical, phrasal and paremiological levels), expression or manifestation of emotions in certain names, creating different lexical (macro-) fields, to the level of style and discourse.
