Extreme temperatures in the contemporary climate of Bulgaria – development and prognosis

Summary/Abstract: This study is a continuation of a series of researches dealing with the temperature regime on Bulgarian territory for the last two decades. The author discusses the fast rising number of temperature extremes typical of the present-day climate, both in the territory of Bulgaria and in Southeastern Europe. Analysed are the instability of the climate in the area, its contrast and extremity, availability and the tendency of its further development.
