Summary/Abstract: The idea of truth-telling or fearless speech is one of the preferred topics in the later Michel Foucault’s writings and his final lectures at the Collège de France. The main purpose of the article is to present the notion of parrhesia in three primary disciplines, specifically the rhetoric, the philosophy, and the politics. In each of them fearless speech plays different role, but is related to the ethos of the person who speaks to other people. As a rhetorical figure of speech, as a philosophical lifestyle, or a political virtue, it always exceeds conventional techniques of verediction.
