WYCHOWANIE W PERSPEKTYWIE KOMUNITARIAŃSKIEJ KRYTYKI WSPÓŁCZESNEGO LIBERALIZMU
Education in the perspective of modern liberalism communitarian criticism

Summary/Abstract: The author of the article analyses the consequences which are brought into the reflection over education by the modern dispute between communitarians and neoliberals. Some selected aspects of this anatagonism, the key ones for the educational reflection have been analysed. Communitarian rejection of the liberal concept of an individual is connected with acknowledging it to be the reason for modern "moral decline". Blurred boundaries between private and public spheres on one hand lead to depriving politics of its due independence and on the other hand they cause the atrophy of family life autonomy. this makes modern liberalism require - from the communitarian point of view - serious corrections. In the communitarian perspective education seems to be prmarily introduction to tradition, which enables creativity and individual progress. Communitarian education negating the importance of liberak individualism doeasn'r appeal to universal education but to the heritage of a concrete, always historically definite community.
