The initiative for the establishment of the Croatian Studies School at the Croatian Language Department at the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka

Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author presents the concept and future of the Croatian Studies School in Rijeka, the purpose of which, along with its other activities, is teaching the Croatian language to foreigners. This initiative was prompted by numerous demands from higher education institutions from abroad, and as a consequence of Croatia's increasingly greater proximity to Europe. The program of this school is worked out in detail and adjusted to the European student plan and program.
