Summary/Abstract: Loneliness and suffering are preconditions of the mystical life, according to this depressive Romanian admirer of mystics who does not respect any Biblical rules of conduct, does not know the value of Love and Joy and wishes to do without fellowship. Cioran exalts prayer and extasy, but criticizes God and Christ. The image of God and the view on life of this Romantic, obsessed with death and suicide, differ greatly from Orthodox dogma. Is this son of a priest somehow a believer or is this Anti-Semite just a reader of Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Buddhist mystical texts?
