Summary/Abstract: The argumentation through play on words is a kind of quasi-logical reasoning, revealing incompatibility in a system. It appeals to rejection of the statement just produced and declares the speaker as language incompetent and thus intellectually challenged or shows him as a ridiculous person, notwithstanding whether the reasons for the incongruity lie in his utterance or reflect the very nature of language. The peculiarities of everyday discourse and the restricting factors in language make the refutation of word play arguments extremely complicated.
