Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this text is to comprehend how an experience of reading converts into an experience of life, sometimes more powerful and more intense than life itself. It shows how a fictional work, authored by Guimarães Rosa, can gain so much importance in our lives, in the imaginary repository of a people, without being historical, sociological or religious, but merely a novel. It focuses mainly on the intertwining of literature and life in Rosa’s work. It also questions the manner in which, starting from the overlapping of fiction and reality, we can move along the paths that the author opens for us.
