CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE MODULARITY OF LOGISTIC SUPPORT STRUCTURES WITHIN THE AIR FORCES

Summary/Abstract: The security environment in the 21st century is enhanced by incoming and serious risks and serious risks and threats that can lead to escalating crisis situations with negative effects. The North Atlantic Treaty Alliance is continuously adapting itself to such security requirement by carrying out a deep transformation of concepts, structures and actions, the results being the capacity of organizing and deploying expeditionary forces that should be able to manage the enlarged range of global crises. Within these forces, the air branch/component will have a special role due to the following attributes: rapid-reaction capacity, speed, stronger fire power, flexibility etc. The new approaches of the doctrine regarding air operations and not only, foresee a change of logistic support structures within the framework of modularity.
