Summary/Abstract: The article sets as its goal to analyse the TV version of the play ‘Macbeth’ by William Shakespeare (1976) directed by the English actor Trevor Nunn. The film is studied in the context of the wave of experimental productions of Shakespeare’s plays in the 1970s in Great Britain as a result of the attempts to find a new, present-day attitude towards Shakespearean drama.
