COMPARATIVE-PRAGMATIC METHODOLOGICAL MODEL OF SOCIO-CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE ENGLISH TEXT

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to explicate the theoretical grounds necessary for the modeling of general matrices for comparative pragmatic analysis in the process of generation and reconstruction of the English text in the process of language production and translation. The study employs a pragmatic approach to the notions communicative situation, text intenlionality, cultural and situational contexts. The main parts discuss the comparative pragmatic fundament of the applied linguistic study; the features of the English text from the point of view of the Bulgarian native speaker; and the mechanisms for sociocultural influence of the text. There is a generalized model, presented as a table of the features needed for the comparative pragmatic analysis of a text generated in English from a Bulgarian, or translated from English into Bulgarian or from Bulgarian into English.
