Summary/Abstract: One of the possible definitions as well as some major characteristics of the postcolonial criticism are given in the second section. The postcolonial criticism is defined as a rebellion against the imposed canons and aspirations for marginalized national, linguistic and religious groups or geographic regions, and pronouncement of their rights to reach self-identification, to establish their own real values, as well as constitutional elements of their cultural and civilization identity. Edward Said,one of the leading literary critics, in his work Orientalism, pointed on the historic presumptions of the postcolonial criticism.
