Run, Rabbit! A Woman’s History of the Swedish Crime Story

Summary/Abstract: Scandinavia is known for its crime novels, but we have been importing this genre only since the 1970s, while earlier, crime fiction was little known in Poland. Meanwhile, they have been writing crime fiction in Sweden for 150 years, although during that time the genre has undergone a major evolution. Particularly striking is the change in the depiction of the heroines and the range of roles available to them in the novels: from supporting characters and the ever-popular Victim to being increasing represented as main characters, mainly investigators.
