Summary/Abstract: The article is based upon a synthesis of the various approaches to driving behavior. The main aspect is the initial education of drivers in the drivers' schools. First, we present a conceptual model of the educational programs of future drivers, containing a set of dimensions and factors we consider to be essentials for the evaluation of these programs. Second, we present the results of a research aiming to explore the evaluations of drivers' schools made - of these conceptual dimensions - by the representatives of the main actors involved: driving instructors, school managers and their students. Results indicate a significant and consistent hierarchy on most evaluation dimensions, managers having the most positive evaluations and students being at the opposite pole.
