Summary/Abstract: Multilingualism is an important source of ideas and solutions on the globalized job market. It follows that there exists an increasing sensibility of the university curriculum towards the teaching/acquiring of different languages and cultures. The transmission and the acquisition of expertise in many languages demand the re-evaluation of the foreign language didactics, without underestimating the importance of the practical aspect in addition to the theory. The suggested analysis rests on a specific experience of teaching/acquiring the Italian language in a French university: i.e. which are the competences that the students have to acquire in Italian?
