PRELIMINARY REMARKS FOR AN INTERDISCIPLINARY CHRONOLOGY OF THE ROMANIAN LITERARY AVANT-GARDES

Summary/Abstract: Preliminary remarks for an interdisciplinary chronology of the Romanian literary avant-gardes. The article investigates the manner in which the Romanian literary avant-garde has been presented, disseminated and analyzed with the help of chronological tools both within the Romanian space and abroad. Although this movement is part of a larger cultural, artistic and socio-political phenomenon that thoroughly shaped the mentalities of the XXth century, its various forms of manifestation or full implications remain so far inadequately presented to the public. Consequently, this theoretical study tries to demonstrate the need of combining historical approaches with aesthetic ones and pleads for the creation of an interdisciplinary chronology of the Romanian literary avant-garde, as a necessary research instrument capable to offer new insights into its place or role.
