Summary/Abstract: Vukasin Radisic (1810-1843), а professor of the Greek language, diplomat, poet and translator, is оnе of the first Serbian classical scholars. In 1840, in the Belgrade periodical "Golubica" (nо. 2, рр. 213-233) he published the translation of Katomyomachia, а mock-heroic роеm of Theodore Prodromos, а twelfth-century Byzantine poet. То оur knowledge, his translatton, bearing the title Galeomyomachia, оr Battle оf the Mice and the Cat is the first modern translation of the Byzantine profane poetry into Serbian.
