Summary/Abstract: The author of the present contribution zooms in on various semantic relationships obtaining within function verb phrases (FVPs). Though definitely the tracer of the overall meaning of FVPs, function nouns are shown to widely vary the amount of semes contributed, from almost hundred percent when combining with bona fide central function verbs to half the amount when joining marginal ones.
