Summary/Abstract: Knowledge, empathy, entertainment, socialisation vs. disinformation, manipulation of affections and relations, isolation in the virtual space – all these are benchmarks of a diagram of circulation of the informational corpus and its effects upon the culture of virtual product consumers. As a vector of information (or disinformation), the internet uses written text (subsequently associated to spoken text and static or filmed images) and confirms veracity through the circulation of the message. By using persuasive and manipulative techniques, the new media manages to involve media product consumers in a process of identification with the invoked characters and contexts, using terms that function as “mental routes”.
