Summary/Abstract: On the brim of the 21st century, a significant mutation occurred in the intelligence paradigm, which migrated from an approach based on the national security doctrine to the human security doctrine. In this context, corporations were among the first to approach innovations with the aim to broaden the toolbox used to gather intelligence aimed at obtaining and ensuring a competitive advantage against other players on the market. Today, almost half a century away from the dawns of this new discipline, given its distinct development in a competitive market system, its proved efficiency in an open type organization, characterized by flexibility and organic development, as well as its resilience in the information age, we hereby suggest an applied mapping of methods and techniques used in the practice of competitive intelligence, in order to recruit and exploit intelligence (re)sources. This initiative is aimed at extending, via interdisciplinary study, the range of solutions and best practices used in the education and training of practitioners.
