Summary/Abstract: This article represents an attempt to provide a conceptual framework to the term heterotopia, as it was initially defined by Michael Foucault, and then by the more recent attempts of various other theoreticians. The main aim is to identify the role this concept plays in the formation of a geography of the postmodern, cosmopolitan and fluid identity.
