Summary/Abstract: On the basis of linguistic data the author proves the existence of the former eastern frontier of the Čakavian dialect in the regions of Lika and Krbava. After the Turkish conquest in the 15th century, the Čakavians from these regions migrated in two directions: one towards Gradišće (Burgenland) in Austria and Hungary, the other towards Istria.
