Summary/Abstract: The Gender Studies in the Age of Globalization Conference was organized by the Spiru Haret University of Bucharest, Romania, in June 2011. Inviting academics and researchers from all around the world under the broad subject umbrella of “gender,” it proved to be an ambitious event, approaching gender through many different disciplines, with different historical and geographical perspectives. As one of the participants of the conference, I found myself in a rich intellectual atmosphere with participants from around over the world (36 countries, to be precise), each adding a unique angle to the gender discussion
