Summary/Abstract: The present paper is a study that comprises the English specialized language that is used in various professional distance-communication media like the Internet, our daily tribal fire, or the mobile phone, our modern spear. The paper is trying to analyze the ever growing linguistic tendencies in such media in order to foresee the language of the future. The paper suggests a double effect of these shifts the one to affect the nature of language used by a linguistic community and the one to bring together more different languages. The study barely touches the implications on the teaching methodology and the technical and pedagogical means that come from and through the Internet and computer. Netspeak is that kind of language that is neither written nor spoken; it is that language for Internet, the one that brings approximately 10.000 new words yearly to English language. Netspeak is a sociological phenomenon that must be studied thoroughly since communication onthe Internet without it is unconceivable.
