Character of the Polish foreign trade after 1990

Summary/Abstract: The paper concentrates on the changes in the Polish foreign trade after 1990 when the transformation process started. The first part includes the characteristic of the main situation in Polish turnovers: the changes in the value and the volume of Polish exports and imports. The structure of Polish foreign trade by products is analyzed in the second part. The products are classified by the groups according to the WTO’s data. A subject of the third part is the balance of the Polish foreign trade by these groups of products. Finally, the fourth part of this paper concentrates on the intra-industry character of Polish turnovers. The author used the index of the intra-industry trade to estimate the character of the Polish foreign trade. The outcomes of the calculations are presented in table 6. The last part of the paper contains the main conclusions.
