Trade in ICT goods – Poland in comparison to the world

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is the presentation of the main trends in the Polish foreign trade of ICT goods against a backdrop of the world trade in these products. The value, the rate of growth and the share of Poland in this trade have been presented in comparison to the other groups of countries. The analysis covers the years 2000-2013. In the calculations the data of UNCTAD and CSO have been used. The results indicate that the value of Polish trade in ICT goods was increasing faster than the total world trade value of these products. The share of ICT goods in the international trade decreased in the researched period from 16% to 11%, but their share in Polish exports increased from 4% to 7% and it decresead from 9,3% to 8,6% in imports. The main objects of this trade in Poland, as in the world trade, were: computers and peripheral equipment, electronic goods for consumers (tv sets, cameras, monitors) and the parts for this equipment. The share of Poland in the international trade of the ICT goods did not exceed in the reserched period by 1%.
