Analysis of transaction costs of environmental protection instruments in a selected firm

Summary/Abstract: Transaction costs are a financial burden for firms and therefore should be in the area of interest not only of environmental economics, but of environmental finance as well. The aim of the article is to identify, measure and compare transaction costs of three instruments of environmental protection: ecological charges, integrated permits and emission rights borne by a selected firm. The attention is paid to methodological difficulties in the comparative analysis of these costs.
