Sustainable development of polish power system – the analysis of effectiveness and the possibilityof development of renewable energy sector

Summary/Abstract: The paper tries to assess the effectiveness and the possibility of development of renewable energy sector in Poland. The conducted analysis of levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and the projected auctioning system analysis show that in the auctioning system biomass technologies, also co-firing, will compete only with wind farms. The draft on the RES Act will not develop small- and micro-scale RES technologies and will not enhance the energy security. It will not correctly realize the goals of directive 2009/28/WE, also the sustainable development of RES.
