Peculiarities of Future Music Educator's Project Activities

Summary/Abstract: The problems of future music educators' subject training and the education of their project activities competencies are an integral part of the entire lithuanian teacher training system and its reorganization. Project activities of future music teachers through the development of musical educational projects is one of the most important subject competencies components in their educational practice. The aim of this articles to diagnose the peculiarities of future music educator's project activities in university studies. In order to realize this aim the following research methods were used: analytical study of literature sources, questionnaires, and qualitative content analysis. The research was caried out in 2006-2007. 4 university teachers and 28 students (future music teachers) of vilnius pedagogical university participated in the research. The results of the qualitative content analysis as an outcome of qualitative diagnostics revealed: 1) positive attitudes of students and university teachers towards project activities; 2) the degree of future music teachers' readiness to take part in project activities; 3) positive changes in students relating to their project activities; 4) educational possibilities to get engage into project activities.
