Summary/Abstract: When considering the quality of a certain process we need to keep in mind both the positive and negative aspects of the concept of quality. Besides the concept of quality, we also need to keep in mind the concept of quantity, as well as the moment when quality is lost to quantity. These are the problems we consider worth mentioning and describing: 1. Expert staff 2. Subject matter 3. Literature 4. Legal provision 5. Communication. There has been progress and it needs to be mentioned and praised. Steps forward have been made and are especially visible in the following areas: 1. Expert staff 2. Organization and method of acquiring knowledge 3. Differentiation of hardworking and less hardworking students. It is clearly visible that reform at this early stage is already creating positive improvements and that a lot has been already achieved. Reform and its first generation of hardworking students is moving forward, in spite of all the skeptics, in spite of all the fears brought on by an entirely new concept, fear of the other and different, in spite of all those who see students of the reformed system as their future competitors at the labor market and for which they are already certain will be their superior in quality. We are certain that once our well intentioned criticism concerning the lack of literature is taken into account, reform will gain further momentum, as this problem represents the only remaining major obstacle for its full success and the improvement of the quality of teaching at the Faculty of Medicine.
