The Academic Institutions and the Formation of the Modern Romanian Élites in the Romanian Space

Summary/Abstract: Approaching the problem of the modern Romanian élites' formation, the author refers mainly to the role of the Western academic institutions where most of them were formed, a phenomenon that requires complex studies. Nevertheless, the object of this study is the role of the universities on the Romanian territory in the élites formation, which is too little known so far. And the historiography on this question has till now a eulogistic character, mainly in connection with the level of the institutions of high education on the Romanian territory and on which the author is expressing his reasons.
