(In)effectiveness of the punishment

Summary/Abstract: There are a lot of discussions concerning the problem of punishment in different areas of social sciences and humanities such as philosophy, theology, ethics, law, psychology, sociology, pedagogy, and so on. The intention of the text is to present, in concise form, some consideration about punishment that arise from philosophy (retributivism, utilitarism), sociology (symbolic interactionism) and psychology (K. Menninger theory, C. Lombroso theory), and to problematize efficacy (that is non-efficacy) of the punishment from the aspect of mentioned theories.
