2010 - EUROPEAN YEAR OF FIGHTING POVERTY AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION

Summary/Abstract: European Union and Member States have joined forces to declare 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and cons of social exclusion. The main objective is to increase public awareness on these issues and to renew the political commitment of the EU and Member States to fight against poverty and social exclusion. Romania participates in the OMC for social inclusion tool that Member States have agreed to identify and promote the most effective policies in social protection and social inclusion. An important role in protecting low-income people against the risk of poverty, they have policies implemented by the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Welfare
